Legacy Gifts

The APF Legacy Circle The APF Legacy Circle was established to recognize and honor individuals who have named the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, Inc. in their will or estate plan. By doing so, these compassionate supporters continue the legacy of providing care and comfort to animals in need.

The Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, Inc. (APF) was founded by caring individuals in 1931 in response to The Great Depression. As people struggled to provide food, shelter and care for their families, their pets were abandoned. Sadly, the need for the core services that the APF provides – sheltering of homeless animals, adoption, and spay/neuter – has not diminished over the years. Many people are struggling to make ends meet and many animals are surrendered or abandoned. Generous APF donors have made it possible for us to care for tens of thousands of animals over the past 80+ years. APF staff and volunteers work hard to provide care and comfort to approximately 2,500 animals that come through our doors annually. In addition, we are working to reduce pet overpopulation through our low-cost Community Spay/Neuter Clinic.

Our vision:  “A community in which no animal is unwanted or unloved.”

You can help.

We invite you to join the APF Legacy Circle by naming the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, Inc. in your will.
