Celebrating the Hearts That Nurture
Meg Thomas
Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the people who give comfort, guidance, patience, and unconditional love. At the Animal Protective Foundation, we see those qualities every single day — not only in mothers, but in adopters, fosters, volunteers, staff, and supporters who open their hearts to animals in need.
Whether it’s bottle-feeding orphaned kittens, helping a nervous dog learn to trust again, or simply providing a warm lap and a safe home, compassion changes lives.
We’re also reminded that nurturing exists throughout the animal world. From protective mama cats caring for their litters to dogs comforting their puppies, the bond between mother and child is powerful — and deeply familiar.
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate every kind of caregiver. Thank you for the love you share with your families, your pets, and your community. Your kindness makes second chances possible.
