The APF again celebrated this special week with our 7th Annual Children's Essay and Poster contest. It was a wonderful opportunity to teach children about the importance of kindness and responsibility toward animals. The contest was open to all students in 1st through
5th grade. This year’s theme was “Tell Me a Story About Animals.”
We recommend these wonderful animal
books that were donated as prizes for the 2009 contest by their
authors or publishers:
2009 APF Humane Educator of the Year Award went to Jennifer Paley from Van Corlaer Elementary School in Schenectady, pictured here with her student Savannah Hunter, who won in the Grade 2 poster category.
Some
of the 2009 Winners
