The Animal Protective Foundation is pleased to announce that it has received a donation for $1200 from Mohawk River Promotion’s “Rollin’ on the River Car Show & Auction” which was hosted by Rivers Casino & Resort. The money will be used to help pay for the medical care, housing, food, and adoption services for companion animals throughout Schenectady County and the Capital Region.

“The Animal Protective Foundation is truly thankful for receiving this wonderful donation from the Rollin’ on the River Car Show & Auction organized by Rick Voris and hosted by Rivers Casino & Resort,” said APF Executive Director Deb Balliet. “We are grateful for community support and these needed funds will help the APF to continue its good work of providing excellent medical care, housing, food and lifesaving support for animals in need. We know that by working together, we can have a huge impact on the lives of homeless animals in our community.”

$5 dollars from every vehicle registration, over 200 cars, was raised for the APF during the Rollin’ on the River Car Show & Auction held at Rivers Casino on Memorial Day. The event, which brought together devoted car enthusiasts from throughout the area, was organized by Mohawk River Promotion’s Rick Voris.

“We couldn’t be happier to make this donation from the Rollin’ on the River Car Show & Auction at Rivers Casino to the Animal Protective Foundation,” said Mohawk River Promotions owner Rick Voris. “The event was a fantastic day for car enthusiasts in the Capital Region, and having the proceeds help pay for the care and adoption of pets throughout the area makes a fun day out even more special.”

In addition to hosting the event on its Schenectady property, Rivers Casino also provided a food truck, tables, chairs, a generator and other material support.

“Rivers Casino was thrilled to host the Rollin’ on the River Car Show & Auction, and knowing that the proceeds will be used to help find homes and provide treatment for companion animals, makes it even more memorable,” said Rivers Casino & Resort Assistant General Manager, Justin Moore. “Not only was it a great day for fans of custom cars, it was a big win for pet lovers too.”

Along with providing a full range of services for companion animals, the APF also hosts community spay and neutering clinics, monthly pet bereavement support groups, and other events centered around the care and protection of pets.
